9 of the Most Gorgeous Entryways We’ve Ever Seen

April 14,2023 by Matthew Bell

Considering it’s the last thing you see before you leave your home, and the first thing you see when you return from a long day of work, the entryway is a pretty important space. It’s also the first “taste” that guests receive of your design style when they visit. The nine homes in this post don’t just have good-looking entryways, they also have one-of-a-kind spaces that match their home’s personality perfectly. They’re full of inspiration for your own home, even if you don’t have the same size or shape of entryway.

Samone Bos’ entryway in her Australian home is jaw-droppingly unique. There’s mid-century hard surface flooring, a cheerful patterned Sanna Annukka for Marimekko wall hanging, and a giant hot pink Kartell F/LY suspension lamp. But it’s the custom-laminated, pink glass by Axess Glass Products, which bathes the entryway in rose-colored light, that makes this a one-of-a-kind space.

Lee Alford’s Australian home lets you know she’s a maxmimalist from the very moment you step into her home. There is jungle-themed art, leopard print and psychedelic patterned pillows, orange velvet chairs, and more.

Sara ‘s Spanish home has an entryway that’s proof you don’t have to have a fancy or expensive one. Using DIY skills, she crafted a cute and functional little entryway corner with wall hooks, a little wall shelf, as well as textured accessories like a little rug and baskets.

Honestly every inch of Marika Frumes’ Scandinavian-inspired NYC loft is gorgeous. Swaths of neutral colors create a soothing environment, while different textures and textiles add comfort and warmth. The entryway is sleek and minimal, with a vintage Moroccan rug, the Pocket Armchair from Hem, and a gorgeous custom desk/bookshelf created by Iron Oakes .

Bold color’s no stranger in Lígia Baleeiro’s Argentinian home, but it’s her entryway that is the showstopper. In love with the murals of Sofia Willemoes , who’s art is inspired by Argentinian landscapes, they installed this wallpaper mural in their space. “I love that mystery of the jungle with a little nostalgic atmosphere,” she wrote in her house tour . “I would say that this is the one element that I am in love with right now.”

Marie Letard is the owner of the Montreal-based decor shop Bouche Bée , and her apartment is a chic space filled with pops of cheery, pastel color. That aesthetic starts as soon as you walk into the entryway, which happens to be a large but oddly shaped space in this home. But the big mirror, blush colored dresser, and fun abstract art, and more all create a useful and beautiful little entry nook.

Sofie Hepworth gave her London Edwardian semi-detached house a pretty stunning contemporary and colorful renovation, and the bold design starts right in the entryway. Actually, with the pink door!

Not everyone has a grand staircase to experiment with in the entryway department, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get inspiration from this Wales home . The entryway features showstopping wallpaper, a dramatic wall color, and a striped staircase runner.

This Bristol home has a fairly humble entryway, but the bright red vintage locker (perfect for hiding all those things that accumulate near the front of your home) combined with a DIY colorful painted door makes for a simple but surprising spot to start and end the day.
