February 23,2023 by Matthew Bell

Name: Tracy Ajjour , boyfriend, and pets Location: Ottawa, Ontario Type of home: Apartment Size: 1000 square feet Years lived in: 1 year, renting

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I am so in love with my apartment because it’s so spacious and has a lot of potential. When I first moved in, the walls were beige yellowish… but I saw potential. I believe that as soon as you paint your apartment white, it automatically looks better. Then, after, you slowly think about what colors you can bring in. I used to be so afraid of color, but now I love it. It brings so much warmth and excitement. I was surprised my boyfriend let me paint one of our walls pink.

How do you identify? Is your identity reflected in your home? I like to always stay positive. Therefore, some of my colors in my apartment are white, orange, and pink. My accessories are very warm because every time I’m home I want to feel cozy and happy.

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Fun, Cozy, Colorful, Warm, and Different

What is your favorite room and why? My daughter’s room! It’s full of excitement and joy. Anyone’s bad mood can be lifted away once they enter her room!

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? Paint! Paint! And paint!

Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t be afraid to paint it and use exciting color. It’s amazing how you can express yourself by declaring your home. We spend most of our days home. We have to invest in it and try to be creative or else we’ll never want to be home. Be simple but funky. And everything should have a place somewhere. That’s how your place will be forever clean.
