Different Types of Clothes Dryers

February 12,2021 by Matthew Bell

In fact, clothes dryers are dryers. They use electrical heating to remove moisture from textiles. People used to call the simple hot air type a clothes dryer. Such as heat pump type and condensing type with a solid shell a dryer.

The working principle of the three clothes dryers is as follows:

1. The hot air dryer works like a hair dryer. It uses hot air generated by electric heating to take away water. Yet the hot air dryer has a layer of outer cover. It facilitates the collection of heat. It achieves clothing drying effect. Yet you can't just generate heat without expelling it. The hot air dryer will have an outlet. The drying temperature of hot air dryer is generally 100-120℃. Dry clothes have a warm and fluffy feel. We know the structure of the equipment. It is difficult to dry clothes evenly. High temperatures can cause more damage to clothing. Wool, silk and other high-quality clothing can avoid the use of this hot air dryer. The price of hot air dryer is low. Yet energy consumption is high on the verge of obsolescent clothes dryer.

2. The condensing dryer has more condensing components than the hot air dryer. It condenses humid heat into a liquid. It is then pumped down a drain. The air that has been dried and cooled enters the drying unit again for the next round of work. There is an anhydrous condensation technology. The technology uses the principle of hot and cold air exchange, in which circulating air is cooled and condensed to dry. The drying temperature is generally 60-70℃. It reduces the heat damage to clothing. It also avoids the problem of exhaust pipe. Its drawback is long-time drying. It will be in commonly 1 hour or so. It will cost electricity.

3. Heat pump dryer. Strictly speaking, the heat pump dryer is a kind of condensation dryer. It is based on the condensation type. It increases the heat recovery system. In other words, during the drying process, the heat from the hot air is recovered. During the heat recovery process, the moisture condenses into water. The recovered heat can create a hot dry air to dry clothes. This principle is known as the inverse Carnot principle. The structure of heat pump dryer is complex. The equipment cost is higher than the former two. Yet the energy efficiency, drying effect and convenience are the best. A heat pump dryer uses at least half as much electricity as a condensing dryer when dry the same clothes.

In terms of floor space, the hot air type requires a separate area for placement. Condensing type and heat pump type can be equipped with support. Consumers can consider an all-in-one dryer. It meets the needs of laundry and drying. It reduces the occupancy area. You do not need to change the machine in the laundry process. It greatly improves the convenience level.

Heat pump equipment is more expensive. But if combined with the service life and energy consumption of the three models, the heat pump dryer has a certain long-term advantage. It can provide targeted care for different fabrics.
